Ninja TV: Two New Releases

For those who want to see comedian Kevin Hart play a middle-aged “unc” who accidentally ends up partying with a group of Gen Zers, there is the comedy film “72 Hours.”

And for fans of “The Big Bang Theory,” there is a new series about comic book store owner Stuart, who joins forces with familiar characters to save the multiverse from collapse.

“72 Hours”

The comedy film “72 Hours,” starring Kevin Hart, is now available on Netflix. Hart is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and producer known for the “Jumanji” films, “Central Intelligence,” and the “Ride Along” series.

The story follows Joe, a 40-year-old advertising executive who is mistakenly added to a group chat for a bachelor party. This is how a typical middle-aged “unc” ends up at a three-day party in Miami with a group of Gen Zers, trying to prove that he can still have fun, keep up with the trends, and hold his own around younger people.

However, the party quickly spirals out of control. Joe’s main goal is now to survive these crazy 72 hours while helping his newfound friends deal with a series of unexpected problems. The film also stars Marcello Hernández, Mason Gooding, Ben Marshall, Zach Cherry, Kam Patterson, and Teyana Taylor.

The film runs for 1 hour and 45 minutes and is now available to watch in full on Netflix.

“Stuart Fails to Save the Universe”

More than seven years after “The Big Bang Theory” came to an end, viewers can once again return to its familiar universe. The original sitcom aired its final episode on May 16, 2019, while the new spin-off “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” premiered on HBO Max on July 23, 2026.

The story centers on Stuart Bloom, the perpetually unlucky comic book store owner played by Kevin Sussman. Stuart began as a recurring character in “The Big Bang Theory,” but gradually became a regular part of the story and even joined the main cast for the final season. Now, the fate of all reality is in his hands, although the title already suggests that things will not go according to plan.

Stuart accidentally breaks a device created by Sheldon and Leonard, triggering a multiversal Armageddon. Denise, geologist Bert Kibbler, and physicist Barry Kripke help him deal with the consequences. They are played by original series cast members Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie. Other characters and actors from “The Big Bang Theory” will also appear in the series, including Wil Wheaton, Kunal Nayyar, Christine Baranski, Riki Lindhome, and Teller.

The entire season is not available to watch just yet, as only the first episode has been released so far. Ten episodes are planned in total, each running between 15 and 25 minutes. New episodes will arrive on HBO Max every Thursday, with the season finale scheduled for September 24.

The creators promise something different from the classic sitcom format of the original series: a full-scale science-fiction comedy featuring alternate realities, action, and plenty of references for fans of “The Big Bang Theory.”
