Ninja TV: The Devil Wears Prada 2

news

The Devil Wears Prada 2, the sequel to the cult 2006 comedy-drama, has arrived in cinemas today. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci have returned to their roles, while David Frankel is back in the director’s chair.

Almost 20 years later, viewers are once again diving into the world of high fashion, big ambitions, career choices, and the editorial office of Runway, where the final word still belongs to Miranda Priestly.

What should you expect from the sequel?

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is not so much a new book adaptation as a continuation of the cult film itself. Lauren Weisberger does have book sequels, but the new movie focuses first and foremost on the return of familiar characters, the atmosphere of the Runway editorial office, and a conflict that feels much closer to the present day.

In the first film, Andy Sachs was trying to survive in the world of glossy magazines and prove that she could keep up with Miranda Priestly. Now, the industry itself is going through difficult times. Print magazines are losing influence, advertising deals are becoming more important, and fashion is increasingly dependent on the digital space, brands, and new formats.

That is why the sequel can be seen as fan service, but not only for the sake of nostalgia. The film brings back Miranda, Andy, Emily, and Nigel, but places them in a new reality where the old rules no longer work as confidently as they once did. For viewers, it is a chance to return to the world of Runway and see it from a different perspective.

Who returned to their roles?

The main reason the sequel was awaited for so long is the return of the original cast.

Meryl Streep once again plays Miranda Priestly, the legendary head of the magazine whose authority in the fashion world is almost impossible to question.

Anne Hathaway returns as Andy Sachs, the journalist who once entered the Runway office without much love for fashion, but left it as a completely different person.

Emily Blunt is back as Emily Charlton. In the sequel, she is no longer just Miranda’s assistant, but an influential figure in the luxury fashion industry.

Stanley Tucci returns as Nigel, one of the most beloved characters from the first film and someone who understood the inner workings of Runway better than most.

New faces

New actors have also joined the original cast. Among them are Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, and others.

Their characters help expand the world of the film and show how the industry has changed over the past two decades.

Is it worth watching?

If you enjoyed the original film, the sequel definitely deserves a spot on your watchlist. The Devil Wears Prada 2 brings back the familiar atmosphere, beloved characters, and the signature mix of fashion, career intrigue, and sharp dialogue.

It is not an attempt to retell the same story, but rather a chance to see how the characters have changed over the years.

That is why we definitely recommend watching this film in cinemas. And after the screening, nothing stops you from ordering your favorite Ninja Sushi and starting a lively discussion.
